Origami can be used to create shapes representing almost anything imaginable. By folding models of Peter, Mary, the Baby Jesus, sheep and other figures traditionally included in depictions of the nativity, you can make your own origami crèche, or nativity scene. Each model requires only a few simple folds, some with multiple pieces of paper that you must slide together to form a larger object.

On her Web Site Anita Barbour has generously shared a Diagram of these models. Diagram Here! [Page 01][Page 02]
Abbreviations are used to keep the diagrams from becoming too cluttered: VF = valley fold; MtF = mountain fold; FUF = fold and unfold, or pre-crease; IRF = inside reverse fold; ORF = outside reverse fold; RB = repeat behind; WSU = white side up; CSU = colored side up. A small “F” near a folded edge indicates that the edge is flattened out in the next drawing, usually as the result of a squash fold.
